What Schools Did Beyonce Attend
Beyonce Knowles is one of the world's most famous singers and actresses. She was the lead singer for the pop band Destiny's Child and went on to a solo career as a singer and and actress, co starring in 2002 in “Austin Powers: Goldmember” together with mega star Mike Meyers and the following year opposite “Kevin Gooding Jr.” in The Fighting Temptations. But what schools did Beyonce attend to make her the star that she is today? I set out to find out and this is what I learned.
Beyonce Knowles began her schooling in Texas at St. Mary's Elementary School, a local religious school that her parents wanted her to attend. It was at St. Mary's that her musical talent was first discovered. Beyonce decided to take some dance classes where she learned both classic ballet and jazz. After a recital, her instructor heard her humming and when she was actually able to hit the high note realized that he had a music genius in the making on his hands. She enrolled in the school talent show and despite an early case of stage fright, got out there and sang, getting rave reviews at the age of 7.
In 1990, Beyonce switched schools and enrolled in Parker Elementary School, a special music magnet school for those who are gifted in the musical arts. She sang there with the school choir until graduation, when she attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston.
Beyonce later switched schools yet again, this time attending Alief Elsik High School, one the largest in the state.
Amazingly, in spite of being a super-star, when one asks the question what schools did Beyonce attend, for college, you will not hear that she went to Juliard or some other school of the performing arts. Instead, you will find that Beyonce never made it to college. By the time of her high school graduation, Beyonce was already well on her way to becoming a super star. At that time, Destiny's Child had already recorded one album and their second, breakout album, the one that blew the charts away and turned her into a super star was just a couple of years down the line.
I cannot imagine however that Beyonce would not encourage kids to stay in school and even go to college. As a role model to girls everywhere, when people ask the question, what schools did Beyonce attend, I'm sure she can only offer her own counsel, that she attended several schools, but that does not mean that she wouldn't suggest going for a college education as well.

Are some people simply jealous of Steph Meyer's success?
cliche, purple prose, two dimensional characters, Mary Sue
Wherver I go, those extremist Twilight haters just repeat this same dialogue. Come on?! Don't you guys have any other VALID reason to hate Twilight or are you just jealous because of Twilight's success that it made more than $70.6 million within one week and that The Twilight Movie Companion is on #1 on the NYT bestseller list and the Twilight soundtrack debuted on #1 on billboard charts and that Summit has decide to make a movie for New Moon.
I am SIMPLY SICK of hearing that Twilght is cliche, purple prose, two dimensional characters, Mary Sue and bla bla bla. When next time bashing the books in a heated state, please for God's sake give another reason why you hate Twilight or just admit honestly that you are jealous of Steph Meyer's success and the all the hype Twilight is getting is annoying you.
Be a man!
Janelle
Thanks a lot Janelle. I am totally agree with you.
Others are jealous on stephenie meyer. Because who ever saw that just a book can make success in every section. they don't have any point. They can't say bad about the movie nor the book . because they are simply great!
Losers!

The writing-directing team of Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers (Father of the Bride) made this sweet satire about a high-powered yuppie executive (Diane Keaton) who unexpectedly becomes a mom and finds she can't successfully integrate the role into her busy life. Typical of the Shyer-Meyers films prior to Myers taking the director's reins on the wonderful Parent Trap, Baby Boom is a little wooden and more sentimental than genuine. But there are entertaining moments, for sure, and Keaton is a delight. --Tom Keogh A successfull career woman is thrust into unexpected motherhood when she inherits a little girl and finds her life and relationships drastically chang |

John Hughes's popular 1985 teen drama finds a diverse group of high school students--a jock (Emilio Estevez), a metalhead (Judd Nelson), a weirdo (Ally Sheedy), a princess (Molly Ringwald), and a nerd (Anthony Michael Hall)--sharing a Saturday in detention at their high school for one minor infraction or another. Over the course of a day, they talk through the social barriers that ordinarily keep them apart, and new alliances are born, though not without a lot of pain first. Hughes (Sixteen Candles), who wrote and directed, is heavy on dialogue but he also thoughtfully refreshes the look of the film every few minutes with different settings and original viewpoints on action. The movie deals with such fundamentals as the human tendency toward bias and hurting the weak, and because the characters are caught somewhere between childhood and adulthood, it's easy to get emotionally involved in hope for their redemption. Preteen and teenage kids love this film, incidentally. --Tom Keogh A wrestler a rebel a brain a beauty and a shy girl share detention in a chicago high school. Studio: Uni Dist Corp. It's delightful to see Meryl Streep come into her own as a romantic comedian in her later career years--after all the accolades, the Oscars, the serious-as-marble dramatic roles. Streep is in fact a true cutup, as she has demonstrated in films like Mamma Mia and Julie & Julia--and she gets the guy. So if Nancy Meyers's It's Complicated is perhaps a bit facile in the plot department, it's saved by a splendid romp of a performance by Streep (as Jane), along with her two leading men, Alec Baldwin (Jane's ex-husband, Jake) and Steve Martin (her supposed boyfriend, Adam). Meyers, as she did in Something's Gotta Give and Baby Boom, turns notions of over-the-hilldom--at least for women--on their ear. Streep's Jane is a contented, affluent divorcée with excellent taste in furnishings, happily about to preside over an empty nest and feeling just fine about it. Who should bump into, and ruin, this perfect solitude but Jane's ex, Jake, played to a pompous (and hilarious) fare-thee-well by Baldwin. "Turns out I'm a bit of a slut," chirps the sexually awakened Jane. The beauty of It's Complicated is that it really isn't all that complicated--its chemistry depends on the wonderful actors (including the supporting cast of John Krasinski, Lake Bell, Mary Kay Place, and Rita Wilson) and the oft-forgotten reality that people over 25 can have great sex, and fall head over heels. --A.T. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen expand their media empire with this compilation of episodes from their TV show, So Little Time. The impish twins play Riley and Chloe, teenage sisters; Riley is earnest and straight-laced, while Chloe is frivolous and yearns to be edgy. In a typical episode, the twins have each cheated on school projects (Riley on a sewing design, Chloe on a cooking assignment), but their efforts are found out and they have to apologize. However, this summary makes the show sound more moralistic than it comes across. It's actually not very didactic, and though the twins aren't great actresses, they have an undeniable charm. Also, for a show so clearly targeting a young demographic, much of the humor seems aimed at parents--one episode features a parody of the movie Glengarry Glen Ross, which I doubt many teens have seen. --Bret Fetzer FOR YOUNG TEENS CHLOE AND RILEY CARLSON, HIGH SCHOOL IS A LOT OF WORK, BESIDES DATING, PARTYING, AND SHOPPING AT THE MALL,THEY HAVE TO GO TO CLASSES, TOO. |
