Baby Sling Hotslings
Baby Sling Hotslings

a ? for moms that have experience using a baby sling.?

I have a 7 month old lil girl and she hates the stroller so I'm thinking on getting a sling.
I have been looking around and I see that they have many different styles and shapes, so I want to know which one is better.
I'm a nursing mommy and she is a big baby so I would like something very comfortable for her an for me. I also would like to know the difference between them and if you can point me in a good direction for a affordable site since I also notice that they are very expensive.
I like this ones:

well she is about 20 or 22 pounds so I need a sling for a BIG BABY!

I an a bit of a sling/wrapaholic. I have a mei tai, a maya ring sling a few home made wraps and a baby bundler which is just like the moby wrap. My favorite for long term wearing are the wraps with the mei tai coming in a close second. The wraps are the easiest on my back because they really distribute the weight equally across your shoulders and back. It's only negative is there is a bit of a learning curve for tying it and the long fabric tends to drape on the floor while tying. I usually get around this by tying it on before I leave the house and just popping the baby in and readjusting at my destination. The sling is great but it does hurt my back when I use it for prolonged amount of time. I do find it is the easiest to nurse in. I mostly use the sling in the house while I am trying to get things done or for quick trips to the store. Check out mamatoto.org for great directions on how to make a no sew wrap and ebay has tons of people selling the name brands and homemade versions of the same things for less money.
